Stinson Bungalow
Restoration of a Modern Classic
So often homes are completely demolished to make way for an owner’s vision. This home and the building team’s vision was the exception. Originally built in the early 1960’s, the home’s design harkens back to Philip Johnson’s “The Glass House” with its clean lines and expansive use of glass.
Working with a team that was committed to the owner’s vision of a modern renovation with reverence for it’s past, we were able to retain the original concept and human scale of the building at the same time re-building her from the ground up with modern materials and techniques to withstand the coastal climate.
“We chose Ton to rebuild our mid-century modern home a few years ago. He took great care in every aspect of construction, from beginning to end. His attention to detail and passion for his craft is palpable in every joint, surface and hinge. (It’s also helps that he is a joy to be around and loves what he does.) His follow-up has been incredibly responsive since we have finished our project and we couldn’t be happier.”
